knox and her BF may or may not be guilty, the italians dont like women to be sexually aware and that is what did for her,saw a layout of the flat on wikipedia and 1 thing for sure is that guede is guilty as sin
as for the mcanns,my daughter has been to over 18 countries with me and mrs lout since she was born nearly 9 years ago
not one time has she been left unattended, even in a creche or with a baby sitter
if she cant come, then we dont go,simple as that
the only place abroad i have ever had issue with is casinos.
leaving 3 kids under 5 while you are out having tapas (read middle class drinking) is inexcusable
we have been to lagos 3 times close to luz,and the locals can make head nor tail of it as the place is alive with families
and they are welcome more or less everywhere
i feel sorry for their loss , but like Meredith's case there are a lot of unanswered questions

You've opened up a hornets nest there Tony. I think the Mcanns were just horrendously unlucky but I do understand your point.
We have a different attitude towards kids in this country, everyone is scared shitless. I have just been in Romania for Cosmo's wedding and one of Cosmos cousins had a 2 year old daughter. She was left to her own devices to play outside the hotel. No way would that happen in this country. But are there are less murderers and paedophiles in Romaia than in the Uk? Surely there are just as many per capita.

i dont particularly mean from the safety aspect ,more the inclusion aspect
I like to treat children the same as I would an adult,so my daughter goes to restaurants, goes on holidays,is confident talking to adults
I dont want her sitting outside crappy working mens clubs with a bottle of coke and a packet of crisps all night ,like i used to have to do.
obviously there are adult only times, but in general trying to give her an opportunity
you make your own luck steve, the whole mcann thing is sad
