It appears that the previous owners of our mid terraced property have increased the level of the concrete patio, so that it now bridges the damp proof course. The floor level of the kitchen is now the same height as the patio. What is the best remedy to this?
Do I have to reduce the level of the concrete patio by removing the excess concrete or can it be done more easily and cheaply? The patio covers an area approx 6m2
What cost would I be looking at?
Patio too high

The only option is to break out the patio and get it down to a level at least 150mm below dpc/internal floor level.
It's a tricky one to cost - not many contractors would be interested in taking on a job like this, so it will probably have to be DIY, which means the cost is limited to the price of a skip to cart away the rubble, plus the hire of any tools you might need. Then, add on the cost of a new patio.
