'rompox easy' fixing mortar - Does water permeability cause problems?

Hi,

Can anyone advise please on the following: -

I am considering using 'Rompox-Easy' to mortar in-between my new Indian Stone paving slabs. The product description states that it is "Frost and de-icing salt resistant" and "allows almost all quantities of water to seep into the ground" but if the slabs are laid on a full sand/cement mortar base then where can the water drain to? The water will be held in the 'Rompox-Easy' joint material won't it? If this happens won't it freeze inside the joint in winter and break up the 'Rompox-Easy' material?

Beware the difference between vacuum packed polymeric sand products, epoxy bound aluvial sand and epoxy mortar products - they are not at all the same - check out the link below
for info or call David ir gary at NCCStreetscape and they can explain in as much detail as you need - There is an increasing confusion allocating the 'proprties' and application advantages of epoxy bound aluvial sand products to basic epoxy resin types or the polymeric (vacuum packed bag in a pail) type - the differences are great and these different materials should not be confused.
