Just returned from a week in Malaga and was very impressed with the paving and flooring around the airport.

Inside and out they have used approx 1000x1000 pieces of silver grey granite laid in a grid format. Outside is flamed and the inside is polished.

Straight forward design, simple installlation, no frills spec. Must have been a dream for everybody involved in the design, procurement and construction. Can't be 100% sure but think the stone is Spanish. Looks spot on!

So no photies???

One thing about the continentals, they do like those big slabs of granite. I remember staring in awe at the bus station in Odense, Denmark (home town to a certain H.C. Andersen) which was paved with 1200x1200 flamed pink granite slabs, and had fully-laden buses running over it without any problems.

My brother live in Benalmadena for the best part of 30 years.I will never forget walking through there as a teenager on my first proper holiday on my own and seeing the tiling and paving through out the airport. It was like walking into the future as we had nothing in the UK to compare at that time.
Over the years its been constantly under construction every time I land there's a new runway/terminal and the spec of the paving is second to none....(.........thinks about a quick weekend in April)

To those who dont know, in spain its perfectly acceptable just to go for a quick shandy in a house of ill repute with your friends, there isnt the stigma there is in the uk
so i made my excuses and left

What type of shandy would that be then? :D
Yes its fine for a long term married guy to go and have a 'chat' with the girls, the drink he buys them will cost 15 euro ,but he can bleet till his heart content then maybe seal the deal for a few euro more.

Did go past a place just at the back of his house, It had marble pillars, granite drive way, looked Egyptian .but at the time , there wasn't the money there is now , so looking through the gates at the marble effigies of Ra etc, I asked 'wow! who owns that place?'

he replied 'its the local knocking shop'

:D
