Just completed the three peaks challenge.
Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike & Snowdon all in under 24 hours. We managed to do the challenge in 23 1/2 hours.
It was great fun and bloody hardwork to boot. There were a few calamities along the way. We got to the lake district two hours late due to the heavy fog on those little roads. Our chief navigator then took us to the wrong mountain (not sure which one it was but it was not Scafell Pike). Our chief navigator then took us to the right mountain (Scafell Pike) but got us on the wrong path and got us lost. At this point we sacked the chief navigator.
We eventually arrived at the last mountain (Snowdon) with about 3 1/2 hours to get up and down. At this point we just went for it and literally ran up the mountain. We summited Snowdon in 1 hour 35 minutes which was very fast. This gave us almost 2 hours to get back down. Easy? It would have been if we hadn't got lost again. Getting lost again cost us another half an hour. We finally managed to get up and down in 3 hours.
Brilliant fun and we also raised money for the Douglas Macmillan home.
