Are you getting rid of the navara giles? only just bought mine and its had to go back, new whole fifth gear, new clutch 2 seized/binding brakes plus a long list of other bits, not impressed with the dealer i bought it off.

What do you think of them as a work truck? starting to think ive made the wrong choice and should of bought a shogun commercial.

My mate just brought the new shape one. Seems to have all the extras. He sold his old one and had no problems
Don't let a Nissan dealer get away with bad service. If you ring up Nissan head office and complain, they will kick arse and get something done.

that sounds an awful lot for a 55 plate dan
found this one and this one at half that money

1 of our chipies had 1 he liked it for fishing plus it had the crew cab so he could have it as a car
thing was something happened with the gear box as the warranty ran out so he took umbrage and P/E and got a brand new transit

I would say the cabstar is a more suitable all rounder for what most of us do,although at 30 p a mile avg it hurts to do a long drive
I find all car dealer types to be slippery C U Next Tuesdays, and they never seem to give straight answers

Yes, Navaras aren't all they are cracked up to be - clutch and gearbox troubles are two of the big problem areas.

mine's a 56 plate had it 2 years done 40k in it, new clutch the other week best part of a 1k, after 70k miles, but it does have a hard life towing 4 ton trailers etc all the time.

i love mine, dads got the king cab one, i've got the aventura full spec with every extra its great as i use it for work and as my car handy with the little one, get 32mpg will do 120mph downhill, great in the snow and off road which i do a fair bit of.

we've got a hilux invincible as well but wasn;t impressed with it, drives well but the spec isn;t up there with my navara.

i love doing something different all the time, next week got 2 footing jobs to do, can jump off the pitch job and take tractor and digger and do them.

just after a quicker tractor at mo, ours only got 30kph box. looking for 50kph 150hp for faster rd work.

had the binding brake issue on mine as well

who said i was on the road haha

yeah we've got ramps now for the 7.5 ton and the new trailer for the tractor so those days are gone,

plan is to get a faster bigger tractor and a low loader then we can move all our stuff around on our own, that new trailer can take upto an 8 ton machine and has metal ramps underneath it you can fit a 1.5 ton and a 1 ton dumper side by side on it so be great for footing jobs as it takes 12 tons of muck.

re towing the kubota is 2.8 tons maybe 3 all in with buckets etc trailer is about 800kg, i've been pulled before and they haven't said anything about it, getting a ifor williams tri axle low down excavator trailer for it low centre of gravity rather than using our 3.5 ton general plant trailer on 2 axles.

the whole reason i paid what i did is because i didnt want the older model, they are renowned for gearbox and clutch problems, and i wanted the spec of the new aventura so i bought it, its going back again on thursday for a third time in a month.
