I am (very) new to this game and have just spent an informative two hours on this site which has dealt with many of my questions relating to laying a new patio.
However, my project includes lifting the current patio of 17 sq.m. dark grey york stone, and replacing it with with a lighter sandstone. Half of the York has already been lifted, and it averages between 60mm - 80mm thick. Is this likely to have any re-sale value? It seems a shame to waste what looks like good quality stone.
Thanks.
Market for 'old' York Stone Slabs?

If you can get the stone to a dealer, they might give you 15 quid or so per square metre. If they have to come out and look at it, lift it, load it and cart away, expect less than a tenner.
It might be worth putting an ad in Loot or your local newsagent's window and see if you can find a local buyer. If you sell to a private client, then you can reasonably expect 30 quid per square metre, or 40 quid if you deliver.

Thanks for the replies.
I am not relaying it because the dark grey is a bit drab, and I want a lighter feel to surround a conservatory which has gone up on part of the old patio.
I couldn't see any ads in our local papers for similar but I wasn't sure if it was because there was no market. I will have stab to advertise around the suggested prices. If all else fails, I'll move it to the front, and advertise again with my address.......
