Resiblock trade - Tyre marks

Has anybody had any problems with bad tyre marks using resiblock trade ?

Oh yes! It was a bit of a theme last year, unfortunately.

Have you spoken to anyone at Resiblock?

If you talk to them the will blame every one except resiblock

That is exactly right...that is what they did with me.
They came to inspect one job that had been cleaned and resanded.They blamed the fact that the sand had not been brushed off properly and the weeds had not been properly killed off.....for the tyre marks !!!
I was never going to fall for that so i asked them to visit a freshly laid job that had no cleaning,resanding or weedkilling involved...needless to say,they refused the offer.
This job had been sealed shortly after it was impeccably laid and the client stayed off it for more than the reccommended time.I went to see him two weeks later and my feet were sticking to the blocks...it was awful...bird crap and fruit from a tree were stuck like glue to the driveway.
A different and helpful firm have advised me to use traffic film remover...has anyone used this,and if so does it work ?

you wont shift resiblock off with traffic film remover,resiblock is a product on it s own once it on its on,

as for there aftersales service you can forget it, they have no interest whatso ever,check through all the posting in the forums about resiblock you will find a lot off problems there.

R&A pressure washing might be along soon , he's the man to advise you how to remove it MSH

What are you trying remove with the TFR? the sealer or the bird crap & fruit?

What surface is it?

I haven't used the "trade" product from Resiblock, but have heard quite a few bad reports on it.

Brett Omega concrete block pavers.
The biggest problem is with tyre marks.
They make a good job look horrible.
I feel so sorry for my customers because they spent a lot of money getting the driveway done and then this stuff is applied and the job is spoilt.
I also need a reccommendation for a good brush in jointing sand as well as a sealant that doesn't stay sticky and uncured.

You say sticky & uncured, when was this drive sealed?

To remove the "Trade" product I would try heat first off, as Resi-Trade is the water based sealer yes?
When I say heat I mean steam clean it off.

Last summer and there was more than one...there were many.
Resiblock trade was applied to all of them.
It was applied with a good commercial sprayer and the joints were filled to ensure the sand was stabilised and became firm.
The problem is on top of the blocks...one job remained sticky for weeks !
Resiblock have completely refused to accept any blame whatsoever.
They try to make it look like everything is my fault..and one of their selling points is how simple it is to use !
I find their attitude shocking and i would like to find a way of taking a group action against them.

If you have access to a hot pressure washer and it goes up to steam, then that would be my first approach.
Failing that it is going to be a chemical strip, messy and expensive.

Another contractor on this forum had virtually the same problem a while back and despite my intervention, the alleged support service from Resiblock was awful.

The solvent that's needed is called AS1 and it comes from a company in Southport called "Chemicals" or "The Chemical Company" - I haven't got the paperwork to hand.

This solvent is Na-Na-Nasty with a capital N, bold face, italics and underlining. We managed to get Resiblock to pay for it and for replacement sealant, but the contractor didn't push hard enough and ended up providing the labour out of his own pocket whereas I would have made them buggers pay for it.

They told me they
would pay for someone to come and show me how it 'SHOULD' be done.I contacted him but got no reply.I never heard from this 'EXPERT' again.
I recieved a letter from their solicitors last week threatening to sue me if i continue to bad mouth their client.
I nearly fell off my chair laughing.
All they are willing to say is that it is nothing to do with them and all my fault,
Having read the feedback from you guys today,i feel even more emboldened to go after them until i get satisfaction for my clients because it is these people who have suffered most...i have lost money but these poor folk have lost much more.

MSH paving told me to go back over previous postings on the forums to see how people had problems with resiblock before.
How do i do this Tony ?
I would like very much to hear other people's experiences with resiblock !
