so just renewed insurance on pick up. what the hell is going on? no claims, accidents or convictions this yewr, but renewal quote up nearly 50%!! rung round, no better elsewhere, so had to bite the bullet and take it off "any driver over 25". now 4 named drivers, bought it nearly back to what it was last year. dont understand this, ridiculous!

best of luck mate. as i said, nothing to claim this yr, no convictions. was paying 650/yr, was quoted 950 to renew; and thats with extra yrs no claims! like you, do about 30k a year and got loads of ncb, just cant get my head round it. got a feeling cost of everything is going to go thru the roof this year...

i had a woman in a bmw drive into the side of me just pulled out of a side road and drove straight into the back wheel, got it all fixed etc had a stiff neck, but wasn;t going to claim but might have to now just cover next years increase after i rear ended a ford ka during the height of my split with the ex did a proper job on the little thing, broke my number plate. the old woman claimed for personal injury.

yeah dan your not allowed to do that, they will just void your insurance if you ever need it, crash etc or van stolen and not pay out.

i had a warrior from 21-25 cost me 2200 first year :(

A-Plan for fourbies insurance. The robbing canutes at AA Insurance wanted 2,500.01 quid for my L200 after I lost my no claims three years ago. They wouldn't even knock off that odd penny!

A fellow L200 owner put me on to A-Plan and they had me back on the road for 1,100 quid, which is now down to 700 quid, fully comp.

Oh dear, well untill i can afford im goin to have to carry on doing that and drive safe (which i try to anyway) they want quite a few grand for my own policy.

Bought a golf GTI 180 bhp when i was 17 cost me £4000.00 to ct in insured, yep im an idiot i know, itswhy alot of lads i know risk driving uninsured, the fine for driving uninsured is cheaper than the insurance itself, not worth it IMO but ther ya go.

its all changed now .i drove an old datsun round at 17 with a beer mat for a tax disc ,no mot, insurance ,nothing, I actually got pulled for DD 1 night (passed of course) at 2 am outside a club and they didn't even ask about documents.
got stopped last year for the heinous crime of driving a builders pick up in a rich area (like I am going to rob houses in a pick up with my name on the side?)
as well as the producer they took the serial numbers off all the power tools and wanted to know where i had been ,where i was going, and what i had for dinner the previous night?

is it any wonder the public feel alienated by the police?
same when i have to take my shoes off at airports, and surrender a half litre of evian, you cant even question the reasoning or you will be off for a cuban holiday of a lifetime before you can say "rocket launcher"
sorry to hijack the thread, but little things like this make me mad
NFU or A-plan it is then
:)
