So then apart from the weather being naff, how are people fairing on the work front? Just about ticking over myself, seems a bit pointless sometimes but trying to hang on.
Was supposed to be going subcontracting to a large civils firm from up here, but he lost the contract, like alot of jobs of late.
Now just doing odd bit and bats, cant complain could be worse i spose

I'm not advocating this,
but I know lads deep in debt who are using it
its free and basically they help to get unsecured debt paid back at affordable levels and the interest gets frozen
cccs
my mate owes 25k on his cards, they got the interest froze and hes paying back£130 a month for 16 years
but at least hes not gaining £500 per month in interest,or losing his house
I hope it doesn't come to this for anyone here but better to be prepared ,if it looks grim

I am a ltd. company
but a lot of people when work is tight pay bills and stuff on their credit cards
its a nightmare if your van gets snatched back, but a catastrophe if they take your house away
like i say i know people deep in the mire and a lot of it is because as things got worse they ignored it.
If anyone here is in any kind of financial spin better to try and sort it sooner rather than later,
i nearly lost everything in the last recession through bloody mindedness, and i know blokes who did lose the lot

not worked for 4 weeks with accident and snow, been back last 2 days working for my dad on his new build, pays 75 a day after tax its no good but a lot better tan nothing, racked up a grand on overdraft in 4 weeks off with xmas but thats it despite student loan bu interest rate is something like 0.0034% on that now.
got 1 job to finish and get paid for but need to concrete so be when weather improves, got a few big ones lines up but doubt they'll start till weather improves so i'll tick over working for my dad learning more about the building came and pick up the groundworks jobs when they come up.
going to start advertising and chasing planning applications this year always got work from word of mouth now its getting harder got to chase it. getting those boards made up at mo for job sites hopefully they drum up some work, updated my website. priced a job today for a 300 metre farm track to access a new field guy had 2 other prices mine was 12k. next guy 26k then 62k i was almost physically shocked when he showed me the quotes.

Not had a days work since week before xmas and things are getting desperate especially with having a newborn so the missus is'nt earning either.
Had a couple of enquiries for small jobs and had one confirmation for a half decent job until he asked if i could take credit card payment on completion ???
Been calling all my contacts and sending letters out but theres not much out there, not even retail or warehouse work.
Only landscaping job i found was in Bermuda! , was ready to pack until the missus gave me a clip round the ear lol.
Just need to batten down the hatches and not go down the pub until things pick up.
We'll all be laughing about this come easter boys :p

It's not good out there, we always said we haven't seen the worst of the recession during 2009.
This bastard weather ain't helping one bit.
Hopefully we're over the worst of this white stuff.
Word on the street is that a localish surfacing contractor has been laying during this bad weather!
