Addendum -
A few years ago, I was lying on the back of a dune, looking out at the sand, as far as the eye could see, watching the sun go down, large gin & tonic in hand, Jordan, in the black desert, with a fantastic old bedouin geezer horseman, - as we quietely sat, he turned to me & said -
"Mr Suggers ? "

"Yeah"

"We believe that every grain of sand you can see, is the soul of every person who has ever walked the face of this earth"

As a confirmed atheist I had no answer. Fantastic moment for me, - a small insight into the eastern zeitgeist.
Struck me later - I could have sat on Julius Caesar ?
