just got in from work and thought i would have a quick browse on the net before i go out for the evenings festivities(someone's 50th b/day party i hardly know)
anyway the bell rings
so i think "who the feck is that at 4.30 at my door"
i lean out the bedroom window, and there is a common or garden didicoit in a kilburn suit on my doorstep
"would you be interested in buying a 46" lcd tv sir?"
"no, feck off" i reply
"are you selling that caravan?"
"no its in my neighbours drive not mine" says i
"do you want your drive tarmacked?"
i then shut the window
i suppose this is what pikeys call multi-tasking

Mrs Taz had a VW camper on the drive for about 4 years and hardly a week went past without someone cold-calling offering to buy it.
She never did get around to 'doing it up' and she eventually sold it to a mate of a mate of a mate, who had it on their drive for a good 12 months or so, and every week....rat-a-tat-tat ...you selling that VeeWee mate?

Came home a few months back and there was a brand new renault laguna on the drive, thought that Mrs FJ must be up to no good.
On the door mat was a set of keys and a leaflet from a hire company telling where to drop it off etc. I rang them up and told them it had been delivered to the wrong address and they told me i must be mistaken as they had not been contacted by anyone who had not had one delivered.
That`ll do me i said and placed the phone down, if ony i could have been sure that there wasn`t a tracker fitted i would have just rolled it into the garage for a month or two.
Anyhow they turned up to collect it a day later and found my invoice for parking fee`s under the wiper, i go mad if one of our lads misplaces a trowel or chisel never mind a bloody brand new car.

We used to get some geezer turn up with a van full to the roof of various things, from battery drills to diamond blades to hand tools and even a washing machine in the back heh.
A few months back a former colleague had to unhitch the trailer and push it into a space a few motors away from where the van was parked. Half 4 and they all pile in the van, got back to the yard just as i was handing my keys into the boss and noticed that we had 3 vans and 2 trailers, so i just assumed the 3rd trailer was being repaired or something and make a passing comment about it being fixed. Well! the bollocking that commenced from there lasted about 40 minutes, then he got sent back to collect it. Lucky it wasnt nicked, as the boss had 2 stolen from his last yard, they dont sit around long those trailers.

Nope but i got a call from their office with a full apology and promise of grand discount if i ever needed their service, as i pointed out to their guy it was just as well our car wasn`t blocked in the garage for the 24hrs it took then to turn up.
Which reminds me of the time we turned up on a site and excavated the drive, the lady of the house was very chatty and supplied tea all day long, until 3.15 when she asked if she could get her car out of the garage, which was now on the wrong side of 10mtr long 1mtr deep dig.

a few years ago.....zzzz. (truth honest ) a few years ago when i was a market trader. i went to my lock up at 4.00 in the morning, there was a brand new b m w blocking the doors. i was about to cane the window to move it and plod turned up. i explained it was in my way. he got on to...whoever ,to find out the owner. TCALSS, it turned out to be a ringer. needless to say i missed the market that day because i had to help the police with their enquiries. what did i know?
