as a moderator on freecycle i have to edit some loony tunes and weirdos, but a guy yesterday tried to *OFFER* 5 tonnes of MUD
when i pointed out to him that mud has no real use only landfill he got quite snotty
so i asked the uk mod forum and they all ganged up on me saying someone might want 5 tonnes of mud
not topsoil or loam mind ,no just plain old clay with bits of flint
now am i insane or is there any job that mud would be useful for ????? apart from filling holes in the ground??
the boggle minds

Maybe they think there could be a private hippopotamus breeder out there?
Remember that old Flanders & Swann song? -
"Mud, mud, glorious mud,
Nothing quite like it for cooling the blood,
So follow me follow,
Down to the hollow,
And there let us wallow,
In gloooorious mud."
"Meet the new boss - same as the old boss - We all get fooled again"

i am thinking of jacking in freecycle,it is full of p!ss takers and freeloaders, the same woman has asked for a laptop every 2 weeks for the last 18 months, i told her she may have ,more like with an old desktop and she repliedthat she has one of those but wants a laptop as well!!!
well save oop then luv
get a job ,dont drink, dont smoke, and save up like the rest of the world.
i would hazard a guess that there are maybe 5 % who are really into recycling the rest are grabbers
are you a mod on the hull site ian?

No, not a mod with freecycle (just some other fora). Only joined it (and the York one) a couple of weeks back in order to see if anyone wanted some of the stuff we were clearing out...

I know what you mean about some of the chancers though...

Some of those townies with 4x4s will buy the mud to daub onto their Chelsea Tractors in the hope of fooling the dimwitted into believing they've actually been outside the M25!
