can anyone link me to a site or reference that i can find the specification for pebbledashing please?
i had a row with a fella today who dashed a job for us, but who said the stones dont need washing.
now i always thought they did and i need to settle this without rancour.
so its a long shot but any advice will be greatfully received
thanks LLL

Looking at http://www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4126 and http://www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=173887 - the replies by 'masona' seems to suggest that you are right ...
Mind you, it's not exactly a 'specification'

I can't link you to a site but, I build houes in the Scottish Borders and here we call pebble dashing "drydashing", ie, the pebbles or stones are thrown on to a wet render. All pebble/chippings I have ever used have been prewashed but not for roughcasting where sluury render is mixed wiith the chippings and thrown at the wall. (very messy)

if i remember rightly the pebbles will have dust on them when you get them and will stick better without the dust so i would say yes it must be washed
