Slope variation - Is a convex surface bad news ?

My drive is about 10 meters long, and between 7 and 3 meters wide. 3 at the road, 7 by the front door.

The 7 meter wide area slopes down across the width of the drive by about 250mm - 350 mm.

Ideally, there would be a flat (with a small drainage slope) "lane" of 3 meter width along one side, with the remainder sloping down to the house front door. The trouble is that this will require the surface of the drive to be convex, just where the front wheel of my car will be resting.

My guess is that this will cause the blocks to lift over time, as driving over the exposed edges will lever them out of their sand base.

Would it be better to keep the whole drive essentially flat, with a drainage slope ? Rather than trying to shape the surface ?

Any comments ?

I depends on how convex it is. My drive is a slope up - levelling off at the top and after 3 months it still looks good.

Presumably you are going to put a drain along the house wall.

it is hard to visualise without photo. assuming the fall is well below damp would you be able to raise fall and then step up to your drive.
