My father-in-law has had 740 slabs measuring 450x450x20 laid in several parts of his garden over the last 4-5 years. They are all the same Thamestone Traditional Weathered Grey type from the above manufacturer.

After a year or so he found that the raised pattern on the tiles was starting to come off. He contacted the supplier/installer who tested the slabs and they believe them to be of faulty manufacture.

What would you term to be the reasonable life of these tiles, and what advice could you give me on his behalf?
