Hi all. I am having to lay 900 x 600 slabs, but the job has to be done a bit at a time. I.E. 2 or 3 slabs at a time. Then having to leave the job for a few days and then lay some more.
I am thinking of laying bricks, temporary, at the edges of the slabs to keep the bed from moving. I am not sure if this is adequate to stop any movement of the bed and/or slabs.
Any ides ?. Thanks for any help you can provide
. ???
If the flags are properly laid, why would they move? Even if you were laying just one per day, laid on a decent full bed, and protected from traffic, they shouldn't move at all. If the did move, that would indicate something was seriously wrong!
Thanks for the reply Tony. There will be 'some' traffic, and due to there being no edging course, at least on the first few slabs, to begin with, I felt there 'might' be a danger of movement. And possible sand movement during heavy rain.
If you use the 10:1 bedding mix, as long as it doesn't piss it down straight after laying, the cement will bind the sand sufficiently to prevent washout or movement.
