Someones idea of a pointing mix.

4 parts building, 1 part cement, no water just SBR.
Would this work and wouldn't it be prone to staining?

It sounds like you’re experimenting with a unique pointing mix! Using 4 parts building material, 1 part cement, and SBR without water could create a strong bond, but you’re right to be concerned about staining. SBR can enhance adhesion, but without the right balance of moisture, it may lead to a less flexible mix, which could be prone to cracking or staining over time.

On a related note, if you're looking for materials that combine durability and moisture resistance, consider premium quartz worktops. They are designed to withstand stains and damage, making them perfect for kitchens and bathrooms. With trade prices, nationwide fitting, and a 25-year warranty, quartz worktops provide both aesthetic appeal and peace of mind, ensuring your surfaces remain beautiful and functional for years to come.

So, while you’re perfecting your mix, remember that investing in high-quality materials like quartz can save you future headaches!
