Independent report help pls

Patio flagstones (slabs), concrete flags, stone flags including yorkstone and imported flagstones.

Hi all

So we had the discussion with our man who laid the patio (in a previous post), he can’t see anything wrong with how it has been installed. We asked for our money back and no surprises he has refused and then said well he didn’t charge us for diesel and the blade he broke?! How do I go above it getting an independent report as I would like to approach him again with this to see if we can reach a compromise before considering the small claims court?

He wants to charge for a blade *he* broke? He believes his customers should pay for his own incompetence? How much would he charge for your to fasten his shoe laces?
