Hopefully someone can help and advise - is it possible to drill a pilot hole into paving so that a screw can be fixed countersunk style so screw when fixed is flush to paving and doesn't sit proud, would be easy for wood but is such a countersink bit available for drilling into masonry?
If the paving was taking the drill ok then I would drill your pilot hole first, then change bit to something just less than the diameter of the screw head and take the top few mm out of the pilot hole.
