just quoting for 100 sq. m of trvertine and getting conflicting advice on which base (concrete or screed) and butt joints or pointed joints. all help gratefully recieved

10:1 semi-dry or moist mix for the laying course. Screed it if the Travertine is of a regular thickness. The choice between mortar-pointed joints and sand-filled butt-joints is one of aesthetics. If this was a well-worn Travertine, I'd probably go with butt-joints.
