Jointing edges so finish is flush

Patio flagstones (slabs), concrete flags, stone flags including yorkstone and imported flagstones.

Hi, all,

Patio now laid and jointing done (easyjoint). One think I've noticed is that when the tiles are washed down, the edge tiles wash out the jointing compound a bit so finish is not flush to the edge of the tile. Any tips how to hold it in while it sets?

No my patio but an example of what I mean
