Hi I'm having to design and build (or buy) a machine to make ABS moulds for pavers such as those sold by Bradstone/Marshalls, etc. 450x450x40 etc.
I know there are suppliers in the UK of the moulds (Harristone, etc) but this is for a new client in SA. I need to see if it is cheaper to buy a machine, and remember there was a guy down Rye way who had one/built them, but can't find or remember any contact details. Any help would be appreciated.
A brief description of the machine is a heating plate over an 3mm ABS sheet, drops onto an aluminium master, sucked on by vacuum, then released and trimmed.

Hi Tony, thanks for that. My life has changed in so many ways, as I now live in the Netherlands and work/retire/paint pretty pictures and look after my grandchildren, cook and sing/play the guitar, so have left paving behind. My son experimented with doing paving in SA but eventually settled on doing kitchen installations. I still keep an eye on whats happening but from afar now. I visit the UK irregularly, hope to be there sometime in May, and will see if I can buy you a beer. Best wishes for all the pavers. Any help I can offer in design and detail of machines, please shout. The Dutch are very big on accurately cast pavers with no grout needed, (vertical sides where the pavers butt up) would these be of interest in the UK?

We have plenty of spacer-less pavers, mostly sold into residential schemes, coming in from Belgium and The Netherlands, as well as from Ireland.

The commercial schemes, which are more adherent to BS requirements, still prefer a properly nibbed block, although I did see an installation in Hull a couple of years' back where temporary spacers were being used with nibless blocks, just to ensure regular joint widths and ample jointing material for vertical friction.
