Advise plese - Patio v dpc

Foul and surface water, private drains and public sewers, land drains and soakaways, filter drains and any other ways of getting rid of water.

Hi - After some advice. Just had a very large patio layed round house and conservatory. However the level is above the DPC. Patio is huge so would be massive job to lift and lower. Builder has said he would cut a 10-15inch gap all way round, dig down to below the DPC , put in drainage pipe etc. Then said we could fill with some decorative stones - so no big gap round patio. Will this be ok? Spent a lot of money so need to to work. Any thought please?
