Hello all,
I'm looking to erect a new garden wall and am looking for advice with regards to reducing road traffic noise.
I understand the basic idea of denser walls will help, so no gappy wooden lap fencing. Some people say if you build in brick (my preference), the hard surfaces will bounce the sound round and a better option would be a specialist panel, something like this:

Has anyone got any experience?
Thanks

Not really my area of expertise, but my understanding of accoustic management is that it's a combination of baffles to deflect sound and absorbency to....err....absorb sound.
I've seen specs that have walls angled at non-intuitive directions and then with panels of dense vegetation (ivy, garrya [???], laurels, etc.) but I suspect it's a special skill to effect an efficient design.

we are in the process of sorting this at a build, we had a noise engineer out (planning req). There is a bypass 15m from the build.
We are doing a combination of jacksons accoustic fence at 2m (its barn conv otherwise would need to be higher) behind that 600mm gabion to same height. In front of fence lots of planting.
Not cheap but difference is amazing.
