Just use feather edge for sides and bitchumin corrugated roofing sheets. Yes any tin you get condensation

what about knot holes though ? and how much of an overlap do ya need ?

You can get interlocking boards so no need to worry about how much overlapping. Lay it horizontal. I used feather edge on my big shed and tepee

I'm not an expert, shiplap is normally smooth, sanded not treated, needs painting you would have it on a 30k beach hut in the south.
Feather edge, more rustic, but you can get it interlocking

Brilliant Michael. I'm contemplating a massive shed build myself.

I'm thinking feather edge. More durable, pressure treated and rustic looking and cheaper.

Floor 6x2s solid!

I'm going for something along the lines of 25 ft x 9ft

No base as such. I'm going to cut away turf lay membrane and position 10 concrete blocks level on top of compacted limestone for the edge of the base. For extra measure I'm going to bitumin the under side of the base

x2 4ft x 6ft doors. Not sure on height yet. As high as legal guidlines will let me. Hopefully pretty high cos if so I'd like to build an apex roof for extra storage.

For the roof I have no idea but I am not flush so this will have to be done piecemeal on a moderate budget.

cant find interlocking feather edge rond here but can get 3.6m treated shiplap might go for that got a lot of fence posts I got cheap from b&q for the frame work

how are you getting on with this.

Still working out in my head how I'm going to do mine.

Was thinking shiplap and 2x2s all round. Thick OSB for the floor on 2x2's

Base i was going to dig out a 30cm depth trench around the perimeter and lower ground level by about 5 inches all over and lay membrane. then hardcore in the trench and position oak sleepers around the perimeter and in fill about 3 inches of hardcore in the middle and companct and top with gravel to the level of the top of the sleepers.

Not sure whether it'd be easier to just lay slabs or not but

I'm also considering buying a cheap bloody shed and £200 worth of timber to reinforce and bitumining the roof to save time

well im going for 3x3s with 18mm ply for the floor 3x2 frame clad with 18mm ply wrapped with that underfelt stuff then clad with feather edge pent roof made with proper root joists felt roof seams overkill I know but I got 18 sheets of ply an 12 roof joists for 400 quid !

I swear to god.. I've said it 100 times that if I can't get a digger in I'm just not doing it. This is THE last time...

Anyhow... 10ft x 20ft cheap shed base practically done 12 tons out 12 tons in roughly.

Hey Tony, It's a bit tattier than it was, the roof is still going strong but I should really redo the cladding - it's warped a bit over the years and needs refixing in a few places The insides are completely full at the moment, I'm turning an old Fiat Scud into a bit of a day van so I've filled the shed with the seats and various other gubbins. The spiders love it, mind. The front door also needs a bit of a repaint
