It depends on budget mate I like slurry sets like iron when you use cem1 plus sbr with washed or sharp sand. As for staining its all about cleaning the smoother the surface the easier it is, you can remove a lot with the squeegee which makes cleaning easier.

It would be cement slurry for me if I was doing it unless customer specified resin.

For cleaning use belt cleaner or wash bucket.

Don't use the segmented sponges they hold too much water.

I don't think budget is an issue with this client.
I know he wants to me to use mortar rather than resin based jointing compound.
The cobbles will definitely be slurred.
I'll do a test panel with the bricks when they arrive.
40m2 of brick paving would be a lot of work with a gun so hopefully the test comes up well.

They look smart sy. If your not using a belt cleaner I would definitely get a wash bucket and the sponge floats they're a lot better than standard bucket and sponge.

Gun is too much work. As long as you get your mix right the slurry will do the job with a nice flush finish.

Im doing bit of slurrying this week ill try and do a little video or take some pictures of how we do it if you want.

I won't be using a belt cleaner. I'll definitely be getting a washboy though.
A flush joint is what i'm looking for on the brick paving.
Slightly recessed on the cobbles.

I'very stared this project now and it's going really well.
All dug out and blinded with type 1.
One of the walls rebuilt and we've done a test panel with the brick paving.
The slurry jointing method works really well with the bricks.
Funny thing happened with the washboy Ashley. I ordered it using the link you sent me, read the conformation email and it turns out the place it's coming from is less than 10 minutes drive away :laugh:
At least I won't have far to go for replacement sponges

I brought the washboy Ashley told me about for cleaning the slurry up.
I think it'll need an acid wash too once the jointings cured properly.
I did a test panel for the clients before anything was laid to be sure they would be happy with the end results.
I'll be honest and say i'm supra sing myself with how well it looks.
I'm not saying that to blow my own trumpet, it's the bricks themselves that look stunning.
There are 3 curved footpaths that connect outside of the French doors and a small area for a swing seat in brick paving.
There are also to v shaped areas that you can see in the picture that will be infilled with the cobbles we pulled up at the beginning of the job.
I'd love to be doing this type of work all the time.
I currently get around 1 job a year where a client asks for something special.

My work on this one is just finished.
As soon as the planting areas are filled up and new turf goes down it'll look lovely.
I was hoping to take pictures of it dry after spending 2 days cleaning up but I doubt it'll be dry until tomorrow afternoon.
