Ok been getting some quotes for the new drive. Would like to have a go myself but I think it's just to much for me. Anyway had 3 quotes so far two have said rip up the old old concrete drive as you never build off concrete . One who we have seen do work at two properties in our street has said he will leave the majority of the old concrete drive in place and dig up. Where needed as we have enough hieght to build up a good base . He said it would need to be kangoed to allow water to seep through to stop the sand from water logging. Emma any advice guys.
Cheers

Any advice! Yes don't pave over concrete particularly where there will be a mixture of base materials i.e partial concrete and partial base. Where the two bases meet a crease will form eventually/soon.
Sounds like a pikey type of method to me, well that's what I've seen them do.
Guessing he's also the cheapest.
