the current project we are just about to finish on is all looking good
anyway the clients have decided to get their own kitchen installed by a well known large UK brand
the project manager (read salesman) came around today as our last skip was being taken away
he said "are you getting another one ?" (this was skip nos. 32 on this particular job)
I said "why would we ,we are done?"
anyway the upshot is that although the company he works for are getting a kings ransom to supply and fit a kitchen they seem to think that me <the builder> or X <the client>
should pay another £250 +VAT to get rid of their rubbish
am I being a little thick here?
or are they just taking the piss?
I understood if you supply and fit something waste is your problem unless otherwise agreed
if you say supply 20 kitchen units for others to fit then it is their problem
any thoughts?
cheers LLL

Cheeky buggers.
its their job to get rid of the waste, at their cost. If they did not include it in their price, it should be stated its an extra ir they swallow the cost.
Those 32 skips you had, they were all yours, and as such you can
Put waste in from other jobs if you want.
Annoys me when customers start filling them up with their crap as if its their right to do so!

the customers are absolutely perfect dan
it sthe kitchen installation company who seem to think I want to pay £250 +VAT for the pleasure of them fitting a kitchen which I have no part in
we have done the 1st fix plumbing works and electrics up to the point where their fitters can connect
but I am damned if I am giving them £250 of my hard earned whilst they are probably making 5k profit on the kitchen
I wouldnt dream of leaving my waste on a job and I know you and most here wouldnt either

If the kitchen contractor is your subby and you have not told them they are responsible for removing all their own waste at tender, then yes, its your problem. If they are working for the client its their problem. should add only ever worked in major construction and its normal practice
God loves a tryer
