Been asked to give a price for a grounds maintance contract for a housing scheme. Ive got a copy of the current contract ( not being adhered to) few things in it will need changing due to it being for every site they have but my question is they want a price (per visit )for a 1 year contract and also for a 3 so should I give a discount in the hope of getting the 3 year contract ?

Work out what you realistically want per visit, and go in at that price for the three year plan, and price higher for one year. Make sure that there is proviso for extra visits and any one off jobs such as waste clearing.
I have a three year contract for grass cutting with my local council, which if they add extra cuts is chargeable. Peace of mind knowing its safe for three years

bear in mind things like diesel prices can fluctuate over 3 years
however a 3 year contract no matter how big or small gives you a bit of security
as Dan mentioned things like waste costs also tend to go up
try and include a cavaet for price increases outside your control
I.E. green waste
fuel
etc

Are they on a three year contract?
ask to see what b the prices were to see how far out you were. You are entitled to see them

They cannot use tnat as an excuse. If they wanted a two man team, why ask you to quote?
Keep an eye on their performance. You might still get a chance if they muck up
