put taylor landscaping into liveleak
they have posted up his name address the works
got a feeling his inbox may be full
thing is especially in london you do get these militant cyclists who start gobbing off for no real reason
my mate had his wing mirror punched off by one who took umbrage at alec driving along the road
where Mr taylor let himself down was
talking on the phone
smoking in a works vehicle
and smacking the already shook up cyclist
if he had jumped out and said "are you alright bruv?"
he could have gone away head held high
but he looked at his van (for damage?)
then went into football factory mode
hes made his bed now he gets to lie in it
prison bed by the look of things
(almost certainly not his first nicking)
got a feeling work might be sticky this year for him

Idiots all round. Cyclist should have expected what was coming, you don't undertake a vehicle especially not when approaching an intersection. You sure as hell don't antagonise someone driving a 1.5T weapon either.
Driver shouldn't have been on phone, shouldn't have overtaken him so closely or turned so soon after overtaking and shouldn't have hit him.

I think cyclists have every right to "gob off." I am a cyclist and often have to voice my concerns to motorists who speed past to close and cut us up. Vehicle drivers should show courtesy to cyclists and only overtake when safe to do so giving plenty of space. The bike was the lead, so that twat van man should of waited. He would of been wearing my bike around his head ???

There is talk of trying to introduce the law here, it's called strict liability and we have it in the case of running in to the back of someone (the fault of the person doing the hitting unless it can be proven that the person in front is at fault which is difficult to do without a dash cam).lutonlagerlout wrote:I believe in holland that any incident between a vehicle and a push bike ,automatically the vehicle driver is at fault
the roads are much safer there because of this law
maybe we should have it here?

I do a lot of miles during the day doing deliveries, at night and on weekends I cycle a fair bit so I see the good and bad on both sides.
As a cyclist I can comfortably hit 30mph and so many morons still try to overtake me despite it being dangerous for both of us. To counter this I cycle down the middle of the road but I then get abuse for that  So many people see cyclist and they have it in their head that you are slow and or going to do something retarded so they have to get past you at any cost.
As someone that drives for a living... I see cyclists running red lights, undertaking (so many morons undertaking vans, buses and lorries I'm surprised more cyclists aren't dead), very rarely see them indicate, cycle through red lights, wrong way down 1 way streets, on pavements etc
If they were to introduce the law then at a minimum they also need to have cyclists pass the written part of the driving test so they understand road signs, when to give way etc. They also need to have some way of identifying them like a number plate so they can be held accountable for their terrible cycling.
