How are people fixed up for next year workwise?

I speak to a lot of contractors as part of the job. The majority of people seem to be ok until christmas with not a lot beyond that.

The general consensus is that next year is going to be tough. Its not as if the past two years havent been tough.

we have work but the days of being booked up a year in advance are gone.
I have cut out all non essential spending
