I have had a quote for 6 uPVC sash windows from Quickslide.co.uk. The quote is pretty good and is not that much more than for casement windows. I have seen the casement windows I can get and am happy with the quality.
However, Quickslide are based miles from me and having done some research on the internet they do seem to have a slightly dubious reputation. However, it seems that may be it is te fitters who are useless.
Anyone got any experience of Quickslide?
Or anyone got any recommendations for other companies to try?
Cheers

we have used this crowd in the past specifically for upvc sash windows
they all look great and work
i rang the fitter and he said 2 things to remember if fitting yourself is that
1. they are preglazed so very very heavy
2. because of their inner workings its difficult to get a screw fixing
he used 2 fixings per side and foam
hope this helps

Thanks I am getting that crowd to quote now.
Have decided against uPVC now... many manufacturers of uPVC are unable to comment on how their products will stand up to a very hot climate.
Am going with aluminium now as that should take the heat. It is very pricey now though - and it is a shame most suppliers won't do single glazing anymore. There are no building regs in Angola so u-values aren't a big concern to me.
