arse, lucky the machine didn`t fall on him.

get annoyed at these idiots at times because what their doing is just stupid.
last week on one of our jobs 2 lads fell over 15m due to internal walk on ceiling failing. one fell instantly the other hung on for about 2min, manito/scissor lifts tried to save him but he couldn't hold on and fell. :(

one has 2 broken legs and pelvis the other has both legs plus his hip and a fractured skull. HSE shut the site for 5 days following this accident.
The thing that gets me is how does it feel to hang on and the have to fall... that must be scary, the other lad just fell when the roof panels collapsed. :( ???

sorry to hear that rab and i hope they both make a full recovery

I know a scaffolder who fell 60 feet when they was constructing the new stand at Old Trafford, a brand new scaffold board snapped and if it was not for the fact he was a very fit lad who trained at martial arts 4 times a week he would of died

did he chop the board in half mick?

sorry that was in bad taste, but you can see where it came from

i thought new boards were all pressure tested? I have had old ones snap on me and its not a nice feeling

worst one for me was doing guttering off a ladder (no one footing it of course) and it was a frosty morning so i put a muck board under the ladder, soon as i put a bit of pressure on the cordless ,the ladder went
I tried to hold the bracket/line but the lot went with me
only my pride was dented but it shows how easy and fast it happens
