i'd have sbr'd him in there as a lesson to others f*ck whits, i was brought up by my dad to have a healthy respect for alcohol. we had a bar at home in the games room and me and my 2 neighbors where allowed a bear from the age of like 12, only 1 etc and carried on that way at rugby club etc with halfs of bitter, then pints by 15 etc,

if we'd have ever abused it and got drunk that would have been the end of it, so when at like 16 all my mates who hadnt been allowed to drink where managing to get served and throwing up and stumbling around on street corners, we were in the pub drinking pints of bitter and playing pool etc like any normal drinker.

i go out and get drunk like anyone else but never loose control, i have a high tollerence being a big lad but im a sleepy drunk, if i get proper wasted i find a nice comfy spot and sleep. once slept in the front of a sprinter all the way back from brixton acedemy sat upright with a can in my hand, didnt spill a drop woke up at chesterfield and was surprised to finding a refreshing beverage ready to go.

im going to try and teach my boy the same respect for alcohol and that being a public drunk is an embarrassment and not whats expected.

How pompous can you get, slating people for getting pissed? When i was a drinker, my idea ( like many other people ) of a good night, was getting s***faced, to the point of lunacy. Some of the things i did are best left in the archives of my memory. I'm sure, Giles, LLL, there must of been times you did stuff that you can look back and think f***, did i really do that last night? Come on now, confession is good for the soul :;):

not slating him for getting drunk sean,as i stated i have done much, much worse when drunk

its like this though,if one of my loved ones is stuck in a house on fire,i wouldn't want the fire brigade to be 10 miles away dealing with this plonker

i know a fireman and a copper and they both spend more than half their working lives dealing with stuff like this, drink related shenanigans

and me,you and the rest of the working population are paying for it

tradegy

more tragedy

not trying to be a killjoy but holes are dangerous places
especially wet,warm ones :;):

I think people are looking too much into this.
It's a drunken man stuck down a hole, for the man in question it was probably a one off and now he's paying by the price by being ridiculed by potentially millions of people.
Of course we don't want to see the emergency services time being wasted but the deed has been done and apart from his pride no one was hurt.
So let's at least lets have a laugh about it but let it be a warning to everyone.

C'est la vie! The lad in the culvert, there is nothing to say he had been drinking. Some of the people getting rescued pay taxes to. Now if it was a deliberate act of, ie; drunkards jumping in the water etc: then i'd agree. But i don't think any of the two lads intended to fall into holes. Did they ???
