arghh
they are trying to jazz it up with pictures now
all i want is a nice clean start page
anyway if you want rid of it,use google ssl as your start page its a secure search so you dont have psychedelic pigs all over the shop

the reason google did so well in the early years was the clean and simple home page and now they have to resort to copying what bing have done with background graphics

I read something that said it was meant to be a 24hour thing, to promote different backgrounds & feature artists who had created them.
It looks as though they decided not to risk it for the full 24 hours.

well they seem to have removed the flying pigs 
the thing is every time they talk about an upgrade ,what it really means is another way of targeting advertising at you
i had google beta the week it was released and it was great in those days,nice and clear
TBH i used to like netscape navigator with the little meteor storm in the corner,but gawd was the interweb slow in those days
