I know you should never sand, drill or saw asbestos materials.

However, I've always presumed that rainwater coming off an asbestos roof into a water butt and then used on a vegetable garden would be fine and safe. Though somebody I was speaking to didn't seem convinced.

Having Googled it, I've not found a definitive answer.

Anybody got any ideas?
Thanks.

i take it you mean "big six" corrugated asbestos sheeting?
As this sheeting contains less than 2% asbestos and it is cement asbestos it is 100% fine , we can remove these sheets without any special masks etc. as long as they dont get broken up

I can see the OP's way of thinking, I'd be the same.

Good reply LLL, I wouldn't have known that.

asbestos is a fantastic building material till you cut or drill it,it adds a lot of strength to products that include it
sadly some of its properties were over played

That's what I thought.

It'd still be good to know if I've got the "Big Six" type of asbestos or some other form?
Thanks.
