Given that it's not fit to work, I was talking with Matty Brockhurst this morning about ideas for getting more traffic to his website and I suggested it would be a good idea for the Brew Cabin Irregulars who have websites (and we'd have to include the hapless Cookie in this) to swap links with one another, creating a sort of 'web-ring'.
Sites are ranked by the search engines based on all sorts of factors, but one of the most important is the number of *quality* links to each site. So, if Matty's site was to be linked with half-a-dozen others here in the Brew Cabin, that would bounce his site up the pop charts, but would also benefit the linked sites, because he would link back. It's a version of "you scratch my back..."
I've offered to provide a graphic that could be used, and after checking with my legal advisor, I would be OK to create a page on this website that listed and linked to all the sites that are part of the scheme, a sort of "hub" for want of a better term.
Anyone interested?
