was bored again today ,had to take the cabstar for a recall to stain albans (makes you wonder why you have to use your own time and fuel for this ,when its their feck up?)
anyway got back fairly early, did some tax stuff and thought "sod it,we will go to the pictures"
anyway got down to cineworld to scenes of bedlam, kids running everywhere ,but loads of geeky looking blokes
I asked them what they recommended and they said ,universally "avatar 3d"
so my good self and miss lout watched it with our newly acquired 3D glasses (look more like buddy holly, than the old paper red and blue ones)for the princely sum of around £16.50 (inc glasses)
she started making a bee-line for the pop corn vendor, but a swift uppercut to the jaw quashed her hunger
in to the film itself, absolute cracking film, very long around 2.5 hours, but kept us engrossed right through, the 3d effects are cracking when they work ,which isnt all the time IMHO
i was so dumbstruck when i walked out ,that she suckered me into a £12 pit stop at sub way before a hackney cab home (i like those taxis better dad
highly recommend it to anyone who likes a little bit of sci fi and action
LLL :;):
£12 sub way, still cheaper than a coke & pop corn at the cinema. please tell me you didn't have the meatball sandwich. ate one before, after every fart felt like i should have gone for a shower. ???
nah i had a footlong steak and pepper cheese, with all the toppings bar carrot
miss lout had a healthy looking yoke, some drinks and crisps and there you go

That's where woolies came in handy, for the sweets before going the 'flicks.' Always go to asda, tesco's or one of the large stores to stock up now and walk into the cinema like i've been scrumping, sweets and pop secreted everywhere. ; It ai'nt cheap now the old picture house.
..... That' why i 'secrete' them in pockets, wife's bag etc; With wife kids and, or g'kids it costs too much, so i won't pay it. With two adults and two kids, with suck and pop it's thirty odd quid for a couple of hours. That's without the macadees after.
We saw the film too, but at the O2. In 3D. Me and my fiancee (!) and her son.
We got there a few minutes after the film started and the place was packed. We asked the torch-lady where we could sit together and she showed us the only remaining three seats together, towards the front (yuk) but in the centre (hooray). But they were covered with a recaro type seat cover saying "Broken, do not use". Since she had torched them to us, we thought we could sit there. Trouble was when we sat down, and moved, in our seats, the whole row wobbled and shook. Clearly there was some structural damage.
However, it was that or nothing. So we sat and watched. Impressive film - rubbish storyline - but impressive visuals and sound.
Trouble was when I went to take my coat off the people either side of must have thought they were watching some Disney-fied version of Earthquake, because all the seats on our row shook and wobbled. I thought it was so funny that I got the big-giggles, complete with body shake, and my neighbours wobbled even more.
I booked tickets online for `A Christmas Carol` also in 3D in early december, £24 for three of us. Went through the whole booking procedure and after payment was excepted up came the message that the 3D glasses would cost extra when we arrived.
Thieving B%$S%£ds
I had it out at the cinema with some suited no-mark who told me that they charged people for the glasses so that they take them away, look after them and use them next time, they were in affect saving the planet by encouraging folk to recycle.
Complete b0%%ocks, in the states they hand em out at the beggining of the film and you drop them in a large bin on your way out, now thats recycling.
I am trying to talk my youngest into watching avatar over the weekend but i suspect i will end up watching that bloody chipmonk film instead.
LOL miss lout had her eye on the chipmunk thing, but i told her manana, manana on that one
i have seen HSM and scooby doo at the theatre and the big screen, for that i should get some kind of purple heart, surely?
