thought i would mention that Friday 18th is terry wogans last day as breakfast host on radio2(unless you had been living under a stone you may not have heard)
I for one will sorely miss him, but i expect most of the brew cabiners listen to other stations

My radio's rusted into radio4 (The Home Service) - I love Steve Wright in the cab tho, after the afternoon play's finished -
(Just re-read that, and I sound like a real knob)

you just made go hot & cold - the very first day on site here, the main man went mad over a radio - kicked the young junior bricklayer's ghetto-blaster into touch - smashed to bits - he'd saved up for ages for it - (he quietly gave the lad hundred nicker later) he explained to me later all the reasons why.
What happens now with all these discreet little mp3 players?

simon bates,"our tune" anyone??
absolutely those were the good old days

anyone remember Stuart Henry he had a Saturday morning show in the 70's, the BBC sacked him because they assumed he was going on air pissed but he had multiple sclerosis

we have that constant fight going on, on site. my dad hates any radio apart from 5 live but then we have the window fitters, the joiners, the electricians, air conditioning lads, intergrated homes lads the plumbers, the machine all with different radios on as you walk around the house. only problem now is those dewalt and bosch site radios take some smashing :). the worst ones were the brickies with their insistence on listening to the cheesy comercial pop stations like galaxy or key 103.

can't stand chris moyles. Arrogant fatty. He found it hilarous to joke on national television when gloria estefan broker her back. He received an enourmous amount of complaints about it and refused to apologise. Nuff said.

I don't have a radio on site, but my mate insists on having talk sport on, and its just people ringing up about the previous nights football, saying " yeah mate he should have played centre back", and " we should have got a penalty for that". If i wanted banal drivel, i would have turned up at a mums coffee morning

That said, if i was driving a digger all day, then the radio would be on on 2, until steve wright came on. I stopped listening to him when he stated wet sand was lighter than dry sand. idiot

Slightly off topic, what newspapers do u chaps read ? when i was an apprentice bricklayer,i used to read the Sun,that was until they put a patronising article on the front page. YOU DIRTY LOT was the headline.Millions of people watched an erotic drama last night called The budha of Suburbia.Turn to page 3 and u got a load of titties.

Half the time i dont get chance to read a newspaper but if i do its The Daily express.
The worst thing about the other rags is the constant use of CAPITALS WHEN THEY WAN'T TO MAKE A POINT.

I used to like Radio 1, listening to Jo Wiley, mainly due to her playing lots of up-and-coming stuff, not Leona Lewis and Jay-Z all the time.

Can't stand Fearn Cotton really.

I also listen a lot to Absolute (formerly Virgin) Radio. They never play any RnB crap, and play the original 9 minute long songs, not the three and a half minute radio friendly stuff.

Fully paid up TOG, mornings wont be the same with the ginger whinger but we will give him a go.

Steve Wright in the 80s changed radio in the UK, bring back Sid The manager, Chervais and get The Geese Off

I havn`t bought a news paper in over 7 years, i wouldnt believe the date on most of the front pages never mind the story`s :D

I like R1 (Moyles) and R2 in the mornings, Jeremey Vine at dinnertime.

Not much time for radio really, not with breakers, planers, brushes and rollers going. Personal mp3 player type machine would be dangerous. I think they should all be outlawed, esp at work.

Newspapers? Sun every time! Every bloke loves a bit of tit.

Avid reader and commentator of the local rags too. Love stirring the bastards up with sly comments! which often get published albeit slightly editted!!!

i read the sun as a kid (cough cough) but then went to the independant for 5 years, guardian for 3,and have been a paid up subscriber to the times for 2 years
a lot of people dont realise if you subscribe it costs less than half price
if i am driving about listen to talksport or 3 counties radio, but pay little attention to either

Moyles infact radio 1 in general is about as funny as cancer and as engaging and informative as Ryanairs customer service. I hate the thought that it's the most expensive licence funded staton but it's target audience aren't fee payers. We have some good local radio here the kind who aren't adverse to the odd swear laden rant. Radio 2 and 4 can be good sometimes and rubbish at others. My polish staff used to get arsey when I stopped them listening to trance music at 200db and the local lads always sneak the tuner back to Radio 1. I now boycot the sun after they started exploiting grieving parents of dead soldiers to make headlines and piss Brown about. The Times gets my vote cheers for the tip about subscribing LLL. I liked Tel sad but inevitable that he had to retire.
