I've got a few hard landscaping jobs I need doing, from building a wall to capping off a manhole (sorry Tony, still haven't got that done). I'd rather use people I know from the Brew Cabin than pick names at random from the phone book!

I am 62 miles from Chesterfield and google maps is showing Chipping as 84miles, it takes me 1 and a half hours to get to Chesterfield going via Stockport and then through the peak district which is the more direct route.

the other way is M62 and then M1, in fact if you go this way you could meet up on the M62 J 23 and get your tack coat :D

now a word of warning, if your heading to Stockport via the M61 and then M60 in a morning then you must be over Barton bridge before 7am otherwise you will add 40 minutes to your journey, I know because i have just spent 10 days traveling in that direction

If you get the work i think it would be wise to camp down there rather than travel every day :)

Good luck

WOrite fairenuf mick g, i just used the very crude method of "google earth ruler", id drive any distance for the right money!

Ye i have a serious disabilty when it comes to sense of direction, i cant go far without a satnav! Also i havent been round long enough and been anywhere much you see!

Where about are you from Mick G?

I would quite happily collect the tack coat that was offered for free, i just need a post code!

i live in sheffield, but our yard is in strines.

i do sheffield to wilmslow everyday and have been doing sheffield to strines for about 5 years now, come snow, fog, sheep, overturned cars you name it i've seen it on the roads across peaks. from stockport i go A6 => chapel bypass => winnets pass down into castleton => hope (blue circle, now lafarge main plant up this way) => hathersage =>got the backway across the moors through ringinglow.

takes me about an hour to hit strines/marple way

or hour and half in morning getting stuck in macc/wimlsow traffic.

been doing it that long now can practically do it asleep, tried it at few times these last weeks yeeks more coffee required.

So: is anyone going to give Jon a quote or are we just going to boast about who travels where and when?

If not, I'll dig out some names from my little black book.

Ok, I think I've PMd everyone who asked - if I've missed you out, let me know.

I'm on the south side of Chesterfield, and its a bloomin trek to get to Stockport or Manchester from here, whichever way you go.
