Well, the man in charge of getting my calf muscle repaired has agreed that I should be fit enough to take part in this year's Great North Run.
I've been asked to do the Run to help raise awareness for Wellchild. Wellchild is the chosen charity of the Aveyard family.
Bryony Aveyard, a friend and teammate of my daughter, tragically died on 7th October 2008 after suffering a brain haemorrhage. She was 11 years old.
The Aveyard Family and their friends are attempting to raise £55,000 (the cost of providing one Wellchild Nurse for one year) for the Love of Bryony.
In the current global financial situation, I'd be happy simply for some messages of support (and that you have a look at Wellchild) rather than request donations, however, if you do have a spare couple of quid then my justgiving page is

Many thanks

Dearest Ian - Not having children, I just can't imagine - that page made me go hot & cold - done.

Cheers Mike - appreciate everything. I'll be doing me best - hope I don't get crocked again between then and now! Mind you, now that I'm committed to doing it I'll crawl on my hands and knees rather than let folks down.

Many thanks Rab. To be honest, I'm already overwhelmed with the response in such a short time, and to be honest, a load more people now know about Wellchild - which is no bad thing!

Ian you don't need to thank anyone, think i speak for everyone who uses this forum. Were all proud of what your doing. Buried the girls mum on Wednesday, but at least she had a shot at life, kids are different, they haven't had their shot yet.
We`re all proud of you for making this effort.
All the best Rab

Just bumping this back to the top of the board. Come on people it's for the kids and make sure you click on gift aid. Even donating the price of a pint will make a difference.

Hi Rab, about a quarter of the way towards the target that Wellchild suggested. With a number of generous donations from the BC!
Obviously the cash is the main part of Rob and Kath's push, but raising awareness for Wellchild and what they do for sick kids and their families is another aspect

It would be a nice touch if a few of the manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, agents and hire companies that use the Brew Cabin could make a donation to Ian's charity. If it wasn't for his efforts behind the scenes, there wouldn't be a Brew Cabin.
Time to put summat back!

Well done Tony (boss) that's some donation, a lot of people use this site for information, myself included. as the man said we should all make the effort to give something back, as Tony and the contractors on here give up their free time to help others construct drives/patios etc, its only reasonable that we should all make a donation to help kids.
Tony doesn't ask you to pay for any of the information given on his site, he just gives it and saves us all a small fortune in the process.
If you have £1000 for a patio/drive you can afford £10 for Ian.
Rab1 ???
