has anyone else noticed the abundance of wasps this year?
we seem to have them here ,there,and everywhere at home and at work??
also the clock on the brew cabin is an hour slow?

The Brew Cabin time is GMT and we're now BST but I can never be arsed to fiddle about in the bowels just to update the clock. I mean, how many people really use the Brew Cabin as their major source of time information?
As for the Wazzzps - we always get shedloads of them in late August. It's their coming-out party.
We had a nest right outside the son-and-heir's filthy bedroom window last year. I was going to get the council pest botherers to come and sort it but one of the neighbours told me that, if I left it be, they'd not nest here again for a few years....and it seems to be true!

looks like its taken me 6 months to notice its slow==> that is slow 
one bee keeper at the show today, seemed to think that the cold snap killed some of the predators that feed on wasp pupae.
he said it was definitely a "bad year" for wasps

Being carniverous, wasps are a gardeners friend early in the year, as they take all manner of grubs and caterpillars to feed their young. In return the pupae generate a sweet sticky substance that the wasps like. When the new wasps emerge the sticky substance is no longer available, and that's when the wasps seek sweeetness elsewhere - always seems to coincide with the plums ripening where I live.
Although wasps build a new byke each year (and a work of art they are too), they may well use the same entry hole to a building. One loft I went in had six bykes all neatly built next to, on top of and beneath, the others.
