As part of my efforts to get a bit more fit for the Great North Run, I thought I'd pull my hockey togs back on and go for a scrimmage session down at Hull arena.

Ow - it's been at least five years, and I ache a bit today but it was fun :-) !

Well, despite the achey hockey-legs and skate blisters I managed to run 4.5 miles in 35 minutes tonight. No twinges in my calf (which is good) but I've still got it up on ice as a precaution ... :)

Yeah, that's a freaky one - mind you, that black thing around my neck is a kevlar reinforced neck guard to protect against stray skates!
