Hi all I’m looking for a job back on the tool’s I’ve missed the wet weather, back ache and most of all the craic! its been 14 months now since I was last humping 600x900x75’s and I can’t take factory life any more its kept a roof over my head and a few bills paid but I swear I can’t take it anymore.
I’ve been searching the web and had a couple of leads 1 in particular that seem like a pro outfit but the type of bespoke landscaping I want to work in is all up the smoke I don’t mind the travelling but the money’s got to cover it here’s my covering letter so you know where I’m coming from any help would be much appreciated as always. Haggis

Dear Sir /Madam
I believe I am a perfect candidate to come and work for you; I have the right skills and abilities that your company is looking for. I have been looking to use my skills and attention to detail on prestigious jobs for some time, yet I have been unable to find local companies which undertake such high end projects.
I am up to date on all hard landscaping methods and materials and have vast experience in paving and groundwork’s I can work off drawing’s and I’m able to estimate jobs and forecast situations that may delay or hinder budget and deadlines. I can also work in a supervisory role and can motivate people and have a friendly enthusiastic approach to customers and colleagues.
I am 32 years old and live in south Wales with my partner and young son .I have been discussing the possibility of looking further afield for work for some time and we both feel if the right job and terms arose then this would benefit us as a family .I take pride in my work and feel satisfaction on a job well done.
On reply to this email I will forward a C.V. and try and get hold of some pictures of recent projects I have worked on.
Best regards

Once the cement gets into your blood, you can never really leave the building trade! :)

The first thing is to hang on to your job and your sanity for the sake of your family. no matter how tedious, boring. or unchallenging it is. you can send off your letters to firms but in the present climate it may take a while before you get a reply. once the work picks up then you might stand a better chance. We have all been there Hag, it's not nice but it's a wage m8. I gave the game up once to run a small kiosk selling tea sarnies etc on the sea front and also selling on the market. selling stuff while it was pissing down was'nt the same, or as challenging as trying to lay pipes, bricks or flags whilst getting soaked and freezing my balls off. Yes when "it gets into your blood" you are addicted for life :;):

Good letter Haggis and understand how you feel but fer gawd's sake don't jump ship too soon!

Also you need to remove the apostrophes from the plurals in your letter.

Why not send the c.v. with the letter?

Rich
