the company i have used for the past 12 years to insure my compact tractor decided to cancel my policy "As they did not recieve payment" despite the fact they cashed the cheque!
they have now said i have to go through the re-quote procedure, and i have lost the ability to pay by cheque. (cis insurance in case anyone is wondering)
Anyway, i only ever paid around £88 for the year, and have had a quote today from nfu for £265!
Anyone suggest another insurer?

Go direct debit with CIS. One off payment and its worth it for that level of cover, £88! I take it you dont have alloys and the radio is taken out at night?

Try a broker. They get better rates than you can get yourself and the good ones will pass on the best rates.

Slightly off topic, but one of the lads on our place was pushing up the green waste pile, in the new holland with loader...came back into the yard with the A-type hitch and the rear weight block in the bucket.
Had gone too far up the pile, and caught the foot of the weightblock on a buried kerbstone, twisting the A type Linkage, and shearing one of the mounting points on the block itself.

That seems too simple an idea for our management :p
