I've seen some cold Tarmac in bag's in Wickes, anyone know is this stuff any good?
I'm thinking of using it at the entrance to my drive in a triangle sort of shape 200mm up to 900mm, to square the drive to the road, so it will be well trafficked.

For an area that size you'd be best getting it properly patched that stuff is not great. I usually approach and bribe roadwork gangs who'll then throw it in at the days end for a few beers or some folded paper.

some bagged materials can be as good as hot mix depending upon the 'retarding agent', but you need proper equipment to lay and compact it. cut around the area to create an even depth to ensure decent compaction, as if you feather it in it'll just kick out. i don't know anything about the wickes stuff, but Tarmac do a cold lay SMA called roadmaster, but i'm told you need arms like popeye to get it mobile.

just brought 3 bags today to patch up some damage to a pavement. Left it in the sun and it was a doddle to lay. poured out like the hot stuff.
Its ok for patching, but not sure about a bigger job
