Heres a good one for you...
A while ago i looked at the statistics for my website and i found that someone was using some of my pictures on their own website!! I phoned him and told him to stop it, but the cheecky so and so has just copied the picture and hosted it himself!!!
So how do i stop him?? He is a competitor of mine that has only just started up, but isnt exactly in my area.
I find this rather cheeky!!!

All good answers!!!
One chap was linking to my site, so i changed the picture file name and replaced the origional file name with a rude picture!!! It was on his website for weeks!! But he has now copied the picture and hosting it himself. The other guy i only stumbled across tonight, and he has copied them also!!

Can't wait for Tony to hear about this - sort of thing he hates with a vengence - he'll know just what to do.
(I also own a baseball bat.)

There's not a lot you can do. Not what you wanted to hear - but anything you put on the internet is subject to plagerism etc.

the only thing you can do is watermark your photos like tony does now to stop this in the future, see the least possible problems thread in flags and slabs i think some pics in there.

Tony,
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but i have just stumbled over a website where they seem to have copied a few of your pages word for word, including the pictures!!!
Instead of posting publicly, i will PM you the details.

I come across 20-30 websites a year that have misappropriated my work. I've had a good few closed down; some have paid me and my feral lawyers to go away, and some have had their collar felt by their local Trading Standards.
The thieving gits found by Amogen will be getting a knock on their door Tuesday morning, as will their hosting company and the site publisher, with recorded delivery letters from my lawyers. The T&C's for this site clearly state the charges liable for unlicensed usage of material. While some arsehole cowboy traders might like to ignore the charges, their hosting companies are more clued-up and know only too well that they can be held liable for allowing material they know to be in breach of copyright to be published on the servers.
