F##king jobswoths. I am currently doing some groundworks and landscaping for a large rural new build. The builder got his levels wrong and put in too much type 1 so we are scraping it off and dumping it at the clients brothers field entrances across the road. Along came Mr ballbag from the council and told me to stop it as what I was doing was illegal. He told me that it was waste and as such had to be disposed of correctly. The type 1 is high grade was down for 3 months and not contaminated. It was graded and track packed at the entrances but I've been given till friday to remove it. I lost the plot with him a bit he was one of those mousey looking types who's really good at pushing your buttons. I'm a very easy going guy but I couldn't control myself and started going on about who sh#t in his cornflakes this morning did his mother over starch his y-fronts etc. That just pi#sed him off so he turned on his heel and said he'd be back. Spoke to the client and he's happy to not comply and see what happens. Removed maybe 25 tons have these people not got better things to do.

I would be tempted to get the original owner of the MOT stone to write a receipt for his brother :D

Something along the lines of….

Description:
Sold as seen, X amount of secondhand MOT stone

Customer details and Delivery address:
My brother
The field etc

Balance due:
None - £1 cash paid, and received with thanks

And take a picture of the client handing the receipt over to his brother with one hand and taken possession of the £1 coin with the other :p

It's not waste: it's re-distribution. You're taking stone from stock and using it to provide hard-standing at field entrances.

Ask Mr Frilly-knicks for the full definition of "waste". Material stored temporarily on one site for subsequent use elsewhere is not waste.

what a load of cod!

i would have told him where to go, and take me to court, where he would have been sacked for wasting tax payers money.
the only possible thing he could have got you on was if you had a waste carriers licence, but since you were not carrying waste, then i cannot see the logic. Idiot
