I have been trading for just over a year now and I am interested in trying to form a working relationship with a garden designer in the cheshire area does anyone have any ideas how I can go about this or if they have a similar arrangement with any designers in there area. I have been in touch with a few and am waiting to see if anything arrises from it. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

unless its a new build people are more likely to come to the landscaper first, then they can recommend or sub in a designer.

in the work i do i go see the client survey the site and then bring in our arthitect/planning consultant to get the planning permission for private clients any site works generally have this all sorted.

where abouts in cheshire are you

Widnes near warrington.
That is another service I need to work with now someone who can draw up plans etc due to this planning permission ruling as I viewed a job last week that requires planning permmission and have to wait now for the clients to sort the drawings and permmission out.

Try joining www.garden-network.co.uk or landscapejuice.ning.com. They are all full of designers and you will be able to look at their portfolios and check them out before contacting any you might be interested in collaborating with.

I have joined landscape juice and have a similar question there. I found that site when this one was unavailable.

Try the Society of Garden Designers website....
http://sgd.org.uk/mainpages/garden-design-page.htm
or the BALI directory of designers
http://www.bali.co.uk/member_dir.html

In the longer term, becoming a member of BALI or the APL will mean that designers will actively come to you. I'd recomend you becoming a member of either of these organisations.

Which way round are you envsiaging the relationship ? Are you looking to bring the designer in for your projects or to receive commisions from them to build ?

We are based in Cheshire, well established as garden design and build company, see Tonys comments in GLEE review ! but alot of the work is design only, planning proposals etc. for a range of clients, private, contractors, developers and architects etc.

Please feel free to message us if of interest, always willing to discuss new proposals.

Why don't you try getting in touch with Reaseheath College in Nantwich. They are pretty hot on with Design and such. They might be able to put you by an ex student.

When i were there, We did several off campus design projects with Professional designer. A suggestion anyway
